Can data from the old Kinsa app be moved into the new Kinsa app?

Unfortunately, you cannot export profile data from the old Kinsa app (now called the Kinsa Smart Stick app) and to the new Kinsa app. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, and you deserve an explanation.

In short, it’s to ensure the security of the health information stored in your profile histories. The original Kinsa app didn’t allow users to share the same account across multiple devices which meant all profile history data was stored on the device itself.

Since then, we’ve heard loud and clear that our customers want the ability to synchronize profiles across multiple devices, and this requires accounts. We’ve built this into our new Kinsa app, and in order to keep your information safe and secure, we’ve rebuilt the security architecture of the new Kinsa app.

This is great news for those who would like to access the same information across multiple devices, but this upgrade in security features means that existing profile histories on the old Kinsa app can’t be migrated to the new Kinsa app.

If you’d like to keep your existing profile histories, you can download the new Kinsa app without deleting the old app. With both apps installed on your phone at the same time, you’ll have access to all of your profile histories on one device.
