If your QuickScan thermometer won't turn on, a failed firmware update may be the problem.
This is especially likely if you just got your new thermometer, connected it with the Kinsa app, and it worked for the first time but then wouldn't turn on again for the second time.
The good news is that a failed firmware update can be fixed with these steps:
- Open your Kinsa app
- Tap the ⚙️Settings gear in the top right corner
- Tap Thermometer Recovery
- Follow the on-screen instructions
The issue may also be a dead or dud battery instead. In that case, all the thermometer needs is a new battery.
The QuickScan takes two triple A batteries and they're available at practically all pharmacies, most grocery stores, and of course online too.
But if your thermometer still refuses to power on, please tell our Customer Happiness team that you’ve already replaced the battery and followed this Thermometer Recovery guide and we'll take care of it!
